An little wheel Moke passing a red car at Surfer Paradise raceway
The pictures was taken at Surfers Paradise Raceway in 1966 and is being driven by Smith/Seeton in the 12 hour endurance at Surfers Paradise International Raceway.

The Moke appears to be an early 10" wheeled variety and it still has the spare wheel on the rear which is strange considering efforts to make other aspects of the Moke aerodynamic. The picture was found on an Internet forum and has been tracked down to have come from the www.autopics.com.au website and is reproduced here with permission. You can also see the pieces cut from the front grille to make access to the starter motor and generator easier. back -end does seem to be 'dragging' which suggests either a problem in the rear suspension or there was extra fuel tanks installed in the rear perhaps.

Check out the other road racing Moke at Phillip Island.
