Custom DashBoards
« on: December 11, 2009, 04:38:18 PM »
Hi everyone,

We are just about to redo our moke and are looking at installing a custom dash, has anyone made a custom dash for their moke? If so we are interested in seeing photo's. The more from different people the better, as it will give us some good ideas for ours, we have seen a few good ones over the years.

Thanks in advance!

I preferred the original type dash but wanted it to be white to go with the colour scheme of the car so I simply upholstered the original dash:

Hi,

try these threads

Custom Dash Search

There have been a couple of good discussions with photos over the years and the rest are just peoples random shots.

Here's a couple I found quickly.

This is mine. I'm thinking of redoing it but cant build up the motivation to take it all apart and start again.

Thanks Samm,

Nice pics.

Any details on the dash from the blue one or is it just a pic you had?

Thanks Samm,

Nice pics.

They are all from blue Mokes PG haha.

The first two were at Mokefest and obviously the last two are of mine.

Not sure on specs of the other two but what sort of details did you want?
I'm sure Terry is familiar with the first moke and possibly the second.

Haha, only looked registered the colour of the first one in my mind.

It was the first one I was talking about.

Do you know who did the metal work on it? Was it the owner or a company?

It is one of the best I have seen done so far.

Also Madfun, Rogg or Smoken, whats the visibility of the speedo sitting in front of the steering wheel like?

Grant builds his own dashes, this is the 3rd or 4th one I have seen of his and it is most likely plywood on a metal frame covered in vinyl. The white gauges rotate throug five different coloured back lights and the whole car is a mobile light show when it gets dark.

You wouldn't pick from afar that it's plywood and vinyl.

The shape of it looks good, I might try and get a metal version of that shape done and painted the same colour as the car.

My current plan for a revamped dash it to try and make it in fibreglass and paint to match the car.  If it comes out looking like crap then I will have to convince my wife to cover it to match the seats.  :P
