part number list
« on: April 17, 2006, 03:13:14 PM »
Now i might be wrong but a lot of us ask a lot of questions about parts an such and my latest topic reminded me that we need some sort of part number list for common things. (after steelo told me to go to go to my local autoshop to find the right steering wheel boss part number). i have been writing the part numbers down as i have been getting them so i didnt have to ask bursons again if i needed more so ill start. btw. if this is a stupid topic, please tell me and we will stop it :) (especially if there is another section covering this already.)

Spark Plugs: NGK BP6ES
Oil Filter: screw on type: ryco z82/ bursons B7418
Oil Filter: cartridge type: ryco R2200P
carby rebuild 1.5 and 1.25: SU 750 (not sure for 1 3/4)
Goss fuel filter diaphram kit: 631VC
Coil: Bosch SU12
Fuel Filter: Ryco MF1 (standard really)
Oil: Penrite HPR 30/40/50 depending on your preferences (4.8litres)
Boss Kit 79 Moke: Autotechnica #373 sticker Barcode is 9 311675 115496

We all know who have looked for parts the number of books the staff look at to determine whats what. they come under morris/bmc/leyland etc. its nice to tell them exactly what youre looking for. if this is a good idea we should sticky it. i also think a thread size topic would be good too.

please copy and paste my list then add your additions/subtractions on your post so they all stay together.

cheers,

wayne

Be careful with the autotechnica 373 boss.
The new stock is no good.
Has to be old stock otherwise the recess that covers the indicator return is not covered. recently had this prob and had to send pics to autotechnica to get the correct old stock.

Luckily I didnt throw out the box the boss kit came in. Has BOSS KIT #373 sticker Barcode is 9 311675 115496. I know it fits my 79 moke perfectly.

4 litres?, the gearbox was intended to be full with 4.8 liters of oil (around 1 gal (UK), the most common oil bottle is 5 liters 200ml aint gonna hurt either.

I found the NKG and got Bosch leads and valvoline oil filter from supercheap. I cannot find the rotor, dist points from supercheap so if anyone in melbourne knows where to get these let me know car is 1977. It doesnt matter what brand just need some!

Occy,

In Bosch

Cap is GL109
Points/Contacts GL769
Condenser GL179
Plugs W8DC

Not likely to get the cap at Autocheap, probably need to go to a specialist supplier or go to an independant Auto shop and ask them to order one in for yu.

The conceprt of a Parts List is a brilliant idea. This should be formalised into a special topic. May need to take account of different part numbers for different models/years. Extremely valuable resource, especially for those not so familiar with all the bits and pieces.

Suspend,

I heard you were wandering around Ballarat last Friday also :)

I have plans to produce a parts list designed for swap meets so you can look at  box of, say oil filters, and know which one can fit your Moke. The type of items I have in mind are air/oil filters, spark plugs, fuel kits, lights, leads, points and anything anyone else wants added.

As for doing a full parts list it is not really useful as distributors put their own numbers on them, suppliers sometime remove them, and if you are at a decent supplier you should be able to tell them what you have and they give you the right piece. If they can't shop elsewhere.
